This property is the ruins of a bonded warehouse where whiskey from the mill was stored before excise duty was paid. The building is known to locals as the “Bullhouse”, as it was last used for storing bulls.
The lands are contained in Folio LD8501 and consist of 2.24 hectares (c. 5.54 acres). The lands are principally zoned for recreational use but a section of the ground along the road frontage is zoned ‘Town Core’. An extract from the Longford County development plan 2021-2027 below:
The Bull House has been included in this zoning so that it can be retained and, if possible, could be repaired and used for commercial activities, subject to sensitive design and restoration. Any development should consider the visual impact on the harbour area and be designed to the highest architectural standard.
Clondra Village:
Clondra Village marks the point where the Royal Canal and River Camlin link up with The River Shannon. A green way cycle & walking path starts at Richmond Harbour and follows the Royal Canal all the way to Dublin. A very attractive village just off the N5 Dublin Westport road and Just 6 km west of Longford Town. McPartlands Richmond Inn is a popular bar for food, drink and craic.
Tarmonbarry is another attractive village nearby on the other side of the Shannon, just 20 mins walk away (c.1.5km)

Tarmonbarry (Irish: Tearmann Bearaigh) is a village in County Roscommon, located where the N5 National primary route crosses the River Shannon. East of the bridge part of the village lies in County Longford. The village is less than ten minutes drive from the county town of Longford which is situated a few kilometres east of the village. Tarmonbarry has four pubs, two shops (including a petrol station with an ATM), a marina, restaurants, a Garda Station, a GAA pitch, an art gallery, a 60,000 all seater state of the art soccer stadium, and a solicitor's practice.
